Previously, TAG Heuer cooperated with Hodinkee to launch the Carrera series Skipper chronograph and Carrera series Dato chronograph co-branded models, paying tribute to TAG Heuer’s history. In each cooperation, Hodinkee does not simply copy the original but strives to bring something new and innovative. The TAG Heuer Carrera series Seafarer chronograph Hodinkee co-branded model is no exception. Its design inspiration comes from the classic Seafarer chronograph that Hodinkee created for sporting goods retailer Abercrombie & Fitch (from now on referred to as A&F) from the 1950s to the 1970s. This ultra-modern Carrera is updated for today’s adventures, incorporating design elements from one of Hodinkee’s favorite vintage models and TAG Heuer’s most famous. The watch follows the color scheme and bezel aesthetics of the 1968 Seafarer chronograph while fully reflecting the modern spirit of TAG Heuer. The Seafarer chronograph is a legendary watch that dates back to the 1950s. It harkens back to a fun and vibrant era of watchmaking, when watches were tested, comfortable to wear, and often designed for specific activities. The Seafarer chronograph evokes the sea, the sand, and the sun, and the name A&F is closely associated with it.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Seafarer Chronograph Hodinkee is a solid and exciting modern interpretation of the beloved Seafarer chronograph. This watch uses the 42mm Carrera series “Glassbox” case design. The domed sapphire crystal not only reproduces the shape of the antique Plexiglas crystal but also significantly improves durability and clarity – which are particularly important when on the water. The black opal dial is faithful to the original design while cleverly incorporating sky blue and royal blue design elements dotted on the tide indicator and regatta counter. This TAG Heuer Carrera series watch adopts a bezel-free case design, moving the bezel to a matching black opal inner ring, thus maintaining the aesthetic essence of the original.
A closer look shows that the “SEAFARER” logo has been cleverly moved to the small dial at 6 o’clock, and the font of “CARRERA” is consistent. The unique block font of the later imitation watches inspires its design. In design, the brand not only retains the classic charm of the late Seafarer chronograph 2446C model but also carefully arranges the modern logos of “TAG HEUER” and “CARRERA” at the o’clock on to symbolize the future development of TAG Heuer. Like all historical Seafarer chronographs, this watch also removes the date window standard in today’s series models. The watch is paired with a black fabric textured rubber strap, perfect for life at sea. This watch embodies all the elements favored by TAG Heuer – both in the past and present.
In 1968, TAG Heuer launched the 2446C Seafarer chronograph. Hodinkee has created 968 TAG Heuer Carrera Seafarer Chronograph Hodinkee co-branded models to pay tribute to this year. Following the model of the previous two collaborations between TAG Heuer and Hodinkee, 125 will be sold by Hodinkee. At the same time, the rest will be available in TAG Heuer boutiques and retailers worldwide. Tag Heuer replica watches.
“The s “ory of the Seafarer Chronograph embodies many exciting elements of watchmaking: technical innovation, design, collaboration, and a glimpse into how business was done in the mid-20th century,” said “Nicholas Biebuyck, TAG Heuer Heritage Director. “The United States was a key market during that period. Thanks to the friendship between the Heuer family and Walter Haynes, then President of A&F, this great innovation was possible and helped TAG Heuer establish its reputation in the field of timekeeping in a region crucial to its future development. Given that an American retailer originally sold the Seafarer Chronograph, it was a natural choice for us to launch this limited edition timepiece with Hodinkee, with whom we have a deep friendship.”
“As” one” of HodinkHodinkee ‘sest partners, TAG Heuer holds a significant weight in our hearts.” Jeff” Senior Director of Limited Editions at Hodinkee Mr. Hilliard, said: “For o” r third limited edition watch, we wanted to create something unique. But when we asked them to reproduce the tide indicator complication, we thought it would be a long process because we knew it would involve a lot of research and development. To our surprise, they accepted the idea. We are excited to bring a piece of TAG Heuer’Heuer’s history back to the public with a beautiful glass box-style chronograph.”
